Jazz Ensembles
The Jazz Ensembles are groups that play jazz, standards, fusion and Latin music. There are currently two jazz ensembles, one adult combo and a Big Band which is a combination of the two groups with the addition of some other players.
Entrance to these groups is limited and by teacher recommendation or audition. The ensembles perform at many venues, such as County Fairs, Santana Row, private parties, Art & Wine Festivals and most recently at Campbell's Big Bands & BBQ.
Instructor for all the Jazz Ensembles is Morry Goldstein.
Jazz Ensembles Personnel:
Ginga is a Jazz Ensemble formed in the 1998 Season. The word "ginga" is Brazilian for "swing". This is an adult ensemble that plays a mixture of jazz, standards, fusion and Latin. Ginga members are:
Deborah Goldstein - vocals and keyboard
Morris Goldstein - tenor sax, clarinet, Director
Greg Anderson - keyboard
Mark Arroyo - guitar
Greg Lindsay - drums
The band meets twice a month and is comprised of members from Ginga, current students that are from the studio of the band's director, Morris Goldstein and alumni and other performers from the community.
The Big Band plays a variety of music ranging from Swing and Jazz and some Funk.

Wind Ensemble
The SBSMA Wind Ensemble is a concert band and is open by invitation or by audition only. The ensemble includes winds, brass and percussion players. The band plays a variety of ensemble literature, such as marches, Broadway show tunes, classical pieces and movie soundtracks.
The band performs a minimum of 2 concerts per year, usually June and December. The Concerts are held in the Milpitas area.
There is a quarterly tuition of $60 for participation in Wind Ensemble.
The instructor for Wind Ensemble is Morry Goldstein.
